Spoken Word & Music

Tally Cawthra

My name is Tallulah Cawthra and I study creative writing (BA) at Brighton university. Instead of a placement I decided to do a creative project as I thought I could be more free with the task as well as fitting it around my busy schedule.

For my creative project I decided to host a spoken word open mic night at my university. Planning an event on my own had taught me organisation skills, public speaking skills as I was MCing it but above all it taught me how to be patient and sensitive to those who were nervous and not as confident in reading out their work in front of others.

This is a skill I can take to my ideal job after university as a care assistant in a special needs school.

Dalmi Gerenyi

Hi there! I’m Dalmi and I love anything music related. Expressing oneself, writing, recording, listening, sharing. I am working on a creative project that is an EP with songs that I wrote and am currently recording.

This experience has taught me so far that reaching out for help and guidance is definitely not something to be ashamed of.

After uni, I would like to keep writing and recording music, and potentially work at a radio station.
