Roszi Howard
I’m Roszi, I’m studying English Literature and Creative Writing and my placement is as a junior events assistant for Action Medical Research.
So far I have learnt all about what goes on behind the scenes of charity fundraisers, from publicity and marketing to the hiring of food vendors. It’s an eye opening experience, and it also feels great to know I’m supporting research into children’s illnesses.
After uni, as well as publishing my own writing I’d like to pursue editing, whether that be for fiction or something more corporate.
Hannah Sheikh
My name is Hannah and I'm currently in my second year studying English Language and Media. At the moment I am doing a placement with Pavilion Works content and production studio as a production assistant and runner.
During my placement I have had the opportunity to learn the behind the scenes skills of what goes into a film or documentary or any form of advertisement such as the efficient time management skills when ensuring that all the props are in the right place at the right time for each segment of filming as well as the technical elements that go into editing a professional piece. My placement has opened my eyes to a whole new world that is the production and directing industry and I feel lucky to have experienced this.
This placement has given me a clear and direct path that I want to follow so after University I have decided to continue trying to get into the industry and I have been fortunate enough to have been asked by Pavilion to work in future projects with them as a runner.
